General questions

The simple answer is to plan ahead. Here are some options:

  • Redirect your package to a nearby retail location (like Walgreens, Dollar General, or a grocery store). We’ll notify you when it’s ready and hold it for up to 7 days.
  • Tell your driver where to place your package. We can leave it in a certain spot, or under or behind something. Wherever you think is safest. And we’ll do it for all your deliveries. You don’t have to make the request for every shipment.
  • Put a temporary hold on your packages for up to 2 weeks. This is a great idea if you plan to be on vacation or traveling for business.
  • Have your package returned to you.
  • Correct an address.
  • Reroute or make an address change.
  • Dispute a delivery.
  • Get delivery notifications and alerts to stay informed.
  • Ask your driver to leave your package in a specific spot.
  • If a package is already on its way, request to redirect it to a retail location.
    Then, pick it up when it’s convenient for you.
  • Place a vacation hold on deliveries for up to 14 days.
  • Virtually sign for a package from your phone or computer.

If your package was redirected or held for pickup at a retail location, here’s what you need to know:

  • You should receive a notification that your package is ready for pickup.
    You may receive a text, automated phone call, email, or door tag.*
  • If you submitted a hold at location request, your package will be at the store you specified.
  • If you missed a delivery, check the door tag from your driver. You can:
    • Enter the door tag number into the online tracking tool.
    • Text “follow” plus your door tag number to +1 716 453 4664

Yes, anyone who is at the delivery address, 21 years or older, and not visibly intoxicated can accept your delivery. However, they must provide their ID to the driver for age verification. Learn more about our signature requirements and delivery options.

 

Other questions

To get an estimated delivery time, you can use your tracking number, door tag number, or ACX Office order number to track your package. If you don’t have one of those numbers, you can use any reference number related to your package, or any purchase order number.

After you enter your number in the tracking tool, you’ll see your estimated delivery time with a 4-hour window. If you don’t see an estimated delivery time window, that information may not be available for that particular package.

Only businesses with appropriate alcohol licenses who have enrolled in the ACX alcohol shipping program may ship to their customers in select states or countries. Individuals (consumers) are prohibited from shipping beer, wine, or spirits through our services. 

Yes, but only if they have another acceptable government-issued ID. The following can be scanned:

  • U.S. passport (ACX Ground® deliveries only)
  • U.S. state ID
  • U.S. military ID

Shipping internationally isn’t that different from shipping a package within the U.S. The biggest difference is the amount of paperwork you’ll need to complete and your delivery options.
